• Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
• Student writing: Essays, handwriting images, and writing prompts you upload for assessment. These are processed by AI and stored temporarily to deliver results.
• Assessment results: Scores, feedback, and AI-generated content produced during assessments.
• Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited, features used, and credit transactions.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide AI-powered writing assessments and feedback.
• To manage your account and credit balance.
• To improve our service and assessment accuracy.

AI Processing

Student writing is sent to third-party AI providers (including MiniMax and Google Gemini) for assessment and OCR processing. These providers process the text to generate scores and feedback. We do not use student writing to train AI models.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Convex, our backend provider. Uploaded images are deleted after processing is complete. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) to protect your information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with third-party service providers necessary to operate the service (authentication, AI processing, hosting) and as required by law.

Your Rights

You can access and delete your assessment history at any time through the app. To delete your account entirely, please contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

WritingGrade is designed for use by teachers, tutors, and parents. Students do not create accounts. Student writing is uploaded by authorized adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
